Garnier Pure Active 3 in 1 Charcoal: Review

I LOVE masks. Any and all masks, I love them.

I own so many, from (this one) charcoal, clay, and sheet that boast clearing blackheads, hydrating the skin, and relieving inflammation. What makes this one so special is that it's a wash, scrub and a mask. The difference between a wash and a scrub? I have no clue.

Like I'm a sucker for masks, I'm also a sucker for grainy cleansers. You know what I'm talking about, the ones that feel like there's sand in them. I think I like it so much since it really feels like your skin is being cleaned.

I work and blog for a skincare company so I know about over-exfoliation and the damage it can do. If you don't know, over exfoliating -- doing it too rough, or too often -- can strip your skin of it's natural oils causing your oil glands to overproduce sebum to make up for the missing oils. This can then lead to acne and breakouts, which is obviously not what we want. So I tend to restrain using masks to only once a week.

My sink in my apartment is crappy and doesn't ever release hot water so whenever I want to wash my face or do a mask, I have to get into the shower. What I've been doing with Garnier Pure Active 3 in 1 Charcoal's mask is first scrubbing my face with it, and then putting another layer to leave on as the mask. For the most part, I don't have breakouts but once in a while I will have a pimple pop up out of nowhere and I do generally have blackheads on my nose.

There's no burning sensation when the mask is on and there's no super dry and tight skin feeling afterwards. Actually, this mask is awesome in terms of follow up feels. It leaves my skin feeling cleaned and very soft. I've been using this product for a few weeks now and I can say that I definitely prefer it as a mask to an everyday cleanser and it works best when it's paired with a nose strip.

Have you tried it?
